((If you are confused about where this post came from, go HERE.))
The river tossed them from side to side in a never ending dance. Wavesong was holding onto Dazedpaw so tightly that she had the oddest feeling that she might have been drawing blood, but she needed it. Having swam in the ocean once before, she had been in worse. If there's one thing you learned in Shimmerclan it was that waves were not gentle. So, with powerful strokes she pushed herself and half dragged Dazedpaw up to the surface of the water, gulping in lungfuls of oxygen.
"What were you thinking??" She asked the she-cat incredulously, but her voice was drowned out by a roar in the distance. Since when did rivers roar? The water had gotten subtly faster and only then did it occur to Wavesong that the Trickleclan camp was located in or by a waterfall (she was never really sure, never being the one to pay attention). The pair were ducked back under by a jerky current, but she fought to stay afloat. "Swim towards shore!" she shouted as loud as she could, trying to twist her body to head toward the rocky shore.

Still stuggling slightly, the best she could do was keep her head above water, and even Wavesong was helping with that, Dazedpaw felt like she was going to drown as fighting the icy current became more and more difficult. Her amber eyes closing slightly, even as she forced herself to go on, it was as though the apprentice had given up all hope of living. "Your the one who ran into me!" The apprentice yelled, having heard the warrior's comment. Struggling, she attempted to swim toward shore, but the pull of the water was too great for her, and it was even worse with her long pelt. The sudden splash though from another cat seemed to slightly revive the apprentice, as she turned enough to see the one who had rescued them, or at least, could be trying. He was familiar, but like most things, Dazedpaw had forgotten who, or where, she had seen him before.
Hope could be a powerful thing, and with one desperate lung, the young apprentice broke free of the grasp Wavesong had on her neck, although she did not leave the other warrior. Somehow as she paddled, her eyes didn't portray the exhaustion one would think, rather, they were bright with curiousity as she tried to swim toward Littlestar, but got nowhere in the process. Still though, the want to say hello was obvious, and with renewed strength, she paddled against the current, ears flattened, and tried to get close enough to say hello. Maybe they would get out of this after all. Dazedpaw knew she would be in major trouble with Crevicestar once she was back, but that didn't matter. She was going to live! As long as this familiar yet unknown cat saved her and Wavesong though, otherwise it was going to be a long trip down the falls...

Wavesong growled. Of course she would be the one to get defensive. As another current tore at her, Dazedpaw ripped free her grasp. The she-cat gasped, but she seemed to be managing to keep afloat pretty well. As the apprentice tried to ferociously paddle toward Littlestar (getting no where in the process), the shift of water made her go under for a moment. That's when she realized the water wasn't all that deep here. When she came back up, pushing off the bottom, she saw Littlestar. The leader of Trickleclan. They were in for it now.
"Who was the one who chased after the bloody squirrel in the first place?" She yelled after Dazedpaw, catching her comment. As soon as she said it, though, she wished she hadn't. Yes, the patrol probably come across the squirrel blood by the border of their territory, but what if they hadn't? If Littlestar had even caught that, they were in even more trouble. Wavesong was beginning to wonder why she had gone after the apprentice in the first place.
She started to swim toward the leader of Trickleclan to catch up with Dazedpaw. The smaller she-cat really wasn't that far ahead of her, but in this current even rabbit lengths felt like forevers. The apprentice also wasn't the only one to have long fur. Her own pelt was beginning to be quite the drag. Literally.
