He wished he knew, his entire past remained forgotten. Lighningpaw could only vaguely remember the day he awoke within TrickleClan camp with questions thrown at him like bullets. Where did you come from?! Are you a spy? Get out of here, unless you're here for a reason? But he hadn't the faintest clue, he'd hit his head and couldn't remember a thing - where was he from? "I wish I could remember." He said with a sigh.
He liked the Abandoned Horizons, it made him feel welcome. No one liked to hang around there much, it was a very lonely place - but you could make it your own. "Everything can be made beautiful." Lightningpaw said to himself again, smiling. It was, indeed, nice to get away from all the she-cats - honestly, did they have to fight over him so much?

It wasn't much of a tree, but by Starclan it was enough for her. A bright light shone in her eyes as she sat atop a low growing branch, paws needly placed before her as she looked up, straight up, through the canopy of leaves above her. The sun was peering through it, so that a brilliant design of light was splashed down to the thick leaf carpet below her, aswell as on her branch and Splitpaw herself. Amber and blue eyes glistened as a waving branch moved just long enough for a stray ray of light to hit them and the young apprentice smiled broadly.
It was about then that she heard the murmurs of another, and as she peered down at her surroundings she spotted the shiney tom with ease. He stuck out like a sore thumb against the foliage, though she couldn't say much. If it wasn't for her high perch, she'd've already been spotted long ago. Her ears cupped in his direction as she tried to make out his words, though only the last bit registered clearly.
Splitpaw smirked.
"YEAH! 'CEPT YOU!" she yowled, jokingly, before launching herself down onto Lightningpaw.

Lightningpaw toppled over with Splitpaw on top of him and he started laughing immediately, knowing who his attacker was. How could he ever mistake that white, splotched fur for anyone but his best friend? Well, he couldn't. Inside his head, however, all he could think was: Damnit, why did she heart that?! At least he'd rather someone like her who would make fun of him, rather than someone who would be truthfully serious about it. He pummeled her lightly with his paws and chuckled it off, using this as another perfect moment to flirt. "Obviously you didn't hear me right. Everything can be made beautiful, but it takes something as gorgeous as you you to be extraordinary." Oh, how charming he was. With a mess of orange and white fur, he landed on top of her and smild. "You seemed to have lost, m'lady. Here's your last place trophy!" He stuck out his tongue for one long, sloppy lick across her nose - maybe that would be disgusting enough.

Splitpaw laughed loudly as she felt his paw bat at her head and began to try and bite it. Her short tail was spinning in her now playful mood and she grinned at the young tom. Lightningpaw had always been her dearest friend, ever since the confused young tom had shown up in camp. Splitpaw had been Splitkit at the time, and anyone kind (or disoriented) enough to not mock her rhyming name with an annoying sing-song jingle upon meeting her had to mean something.
With his fliratious comment, Splitpaw simply batted his ear roughly. She never took his flirts to heart, simply thinking it was part of his persona. Which it kind of was, and what made her any different? The best friend always got the earfull anyway.
With a wild shriek, Splitpaw writhed and wiggled to her freedom. Instantly wiping her nose vigorously with her forepaw, as if she'd fell face first into fox dung. "LIGHTNINGPAW!" she hissed, though clearly not that upset, before once again launching herself on him. With the advantage of the 'first move' on her side, she managed to win the top position this time around. And, in retaliation, what would've been more appropriate than her own juicy lick- all the way from his chin to his forehead. The resulting patch of spiked up fur on his face was just to much, and Splitpaw fell instantly into the leaves, her sides heaving with laughter. "You look like a wet mouse!"

Feeling her long, wet tongue run over his face made Lightningpaw's ears go back in instinct."EWWW!" He yowled and jumped to his paws while trying to wipe off her saliva, before regaining himself after a few short seconds. "Really? Ok, no. I can handle a she-cat's spit." He smiled and, rather than pouncing on her, began throwing the leaves on her with his back legs. He made sure to keep his claws sheathed, however, so he wouldn't kick any dirt in her face. Those females sure hated dirt, they did. But perhaps Splitpaw was a little different?
"So, pretty lady, you willing to get a little dirty? Or are you a she-cat who's too good for dirt?" Lightningpaw jumped into the dirt and started rolling in it, getting his fur completely filthy. Sure, it was gross, but he could always clean his pelt a little later. What was a little fun? He'd rather have a dirty pelt for a few short moments and then return to his handsome self a little later - but the sun was going down, they may have to get back to camp or they'd get yelled at...they already weren't supposed to be out alone.
Aw, hell, she was fun to be with.

Splitpaw reared back onto her two hind legs, looking somewhat like a perplexed ferret as she batted wildly at the leaves that were raining down on her head. She giggled, her bushy tail looking more like a deformed squirrel stuck to her bottom as she tried her hardest to catch one of the leaves. When she felt her claws catch one she slammed it down proudly. "HA!" she exclaimed, clearly thinking she'd done something impressive. Splitpaw had yet to begin her training.
"To good for dirt? HA!" she exclaimed, leaping beside him and rolling until her white pelt was greyish brown from dirt. "I'm dirtier than you!" she added, her own tongue sticking out at Lightningpaw now.
Jumping up she glanced around. "How about a little adventure, eh?" she purred, suddenly, a mischevious glitter quite obvioiusly in her eye. "Or is Sir Lightningpaw to good for such petty, apprentice-things?" she added, her voice acquiring the accent of a pompous warrior for effect.

Lightningpaw stood from his dirt and shook the extra flecks off, laughing all the while. His jaw always hurt after hanging out with Splitpaw; she made him laugh too much for his own good. Dirtier than him?! NEVER! He rubbed his head into the dirt and instantly knew without looking, his pelt color was concealed. As she spoke, he stepped closer so that he was face-to-face with his friend. "I'm not too good for anything involving you." Then he flapped his tongue to shower her with a few bits of saliva before flicking his tail into her face.
"What'd you have in mind, sweet thang?" He kneaded the ground with his paws: a habit he'd always had. Hopefully she didn't mind, for that was one thing he'd never change. Oddly enough, the only time he didn't fidget was when he felt nervous.

Brow raised, Splitpaw instantly returned his shower of saliva with her own. Splitpaw had acquired the a habit that was becoming more and more difficult to satisfy- and that was to top anything and everything her best friend could pull out of the air. Be it dirtier, more spit to her spray, or a more defying act of rebellion- Splitpaw had to top Lightningpaw, and it'd always be that way.
"Uhhhh" she started, her tail twirling in an interesting fashion as she thought. "OOO!" she suddenly exclaimed, leaping into an odd crouching position, with each paw reaching for a seperate direction. "How about.. the Joined Star?! Or possibly, the farms?!" she meowed, excitement burning in her eyes. "Oh! Lightningpaw! We gotta go! Now! Hurry hurry hurry, pick pick pick, before it gets to lateeeee!" Splitpaw bounded in wide circles around her friend quite obviously ready to begin their little adventure.

"My my, you're cute when you get excited!" He said with that devilish little smile of his, but that flirtation was true. He loved it when she jumped around as if they were kits again, it made him feel like they held the world in their tiny paws. And his kithood was the best, she made him feel welcome in the Clan - especially since he didn't remember a thing from the time before. "Neither, okay listen to me!" Now, he could tell her.
His obsession: he still loved to make up those little games that they had when they were kits. He bounced around her and narrowed his eyes, acting playful. "We, Lightningstar and my...er, deputy Splitbrain - I call you that because you only have half a brain." He smirked and began his story again. "We're off to the farms! And, oh no, the dogs there are angry. They're chasing us, we have to get away! Let's run and you come up with what happens next."
And so began their game. [/blockquote]

"What? Are you scaaaaaa-" Splitpaw started, as her friend chose 'neither' as his answer, but stopped herself to listen to him as he began his little story. She purred, eyes flashing with the excitement of an adventure. A devious smile crept across her mouth as realized the little game he was begining to conjure up. She swatted his ear harshly when he threw in the tid bit about her brain, shooting him an 'I dare you.' glare for a moment, before burst into a full on sprint through the leafy undergrowth. "RUN LIGHTNINGSTAR!" she exclaimed, glancing back at him with laughter in her eyes. "Hurry! Those aren't just any dogs! They have fire for spit!" she added, before dipping and dodging the imaginary, flaming saliva that was coming her way. "We have to get to the farms! Flame-spitting dogs are scared of.." murmuring some nonsense word to cover up her sudden brainfreeze, Splitpaw hurried on.
This would be fun.

Lightningpaw couldn't get enough of how easily she played along with his ideas, most other cats just ignored it or became confused and wouldn't play it right. "Fire-spitting dogs?! Well don't step in any of their gross dung, it's really acid and it'll burn your paws!" He laughed, though not making fun of her creative idea. With his keen eyes, Lightning'star' noticed another trail, leading off into who-knows-where.
"Wait, Splitbrain!" He used her fake name, which even managed to get a chuckle out of him again. "This way, we can get away from the dogs!" He ran into the secret trail, and found himself getting into a badger set instead. Please be old, please let the scent be stale! Oddly, Lightningpaw wouldn't only think of himself. He couldn't bare to put Splitpaw in danger...that's weird, and it's never happened before. Oh, thank StarClan, the badger was long gone. "Come on, Splitpaw!" He called after her, sniffing around to see what surrounded them.

"EEK!" she sqeaked, jumping side to side in a zig zag pattern as if dodging piles of steaming, acidic waste. She laughed, glancing back at Lightningpaw for a moment. Splitpaw came to a screeching hault as she heard him call her fake name. She giggled at him, but once hearing him chuckle at the name again her ears went back in a fake I'm-gonna-kill-you way, accompanied by a vicious glare.
"Go go go!" she yelled, taking off again and dashing down the trail, flicking her bushy stub in her friends nose as she passed and laughing. She found herself slowing down as a peculiar scent caught her nose. She'd smelt it before, yet couldn't quite place it. It wasn't a good one though.. what if.. Pushing the thought to the back of her mind, Splitpaw's eyes went from cloudy with thought to bright with play again as she caught up to run beside her friend. "Di'ja smell that, Lightningstar?!"

His heart lifted a little as she entered the set, and he instantly began trying to think of an idea to let the game continue. "'Ay, I did, Splitbrain. Smells like the deadly badger-dog. It's a mix between those fire-spitting, dung-acid dogs and a badger that is so strong it can kill you with one thump of its mighty tail! We need to tear down its fort and then it can't get us any longer!" Lightningpaw smiled and got really close to her, so that she could feel his warm breath on her face. "Unless you're afraid?"
ooc; i'm sorry, it's very short, but i couldn't think of anything to write after that...

"Ha! Scared? The only thing scary out here is your breath!" she exclaimed, pushing his face away from hers playfully and coughing. "air!" she wheezed, stumbling side to side and then collapsing from 'lack of oxygen' before opening one eye to peer at him. Giggling, she lifted her head. "Alright, sir Dungbreath," she started before rising back to her paws. "Where's this fort?" before jumping back into character, and looking wildly about.
The scent that she had caught earlier seemed.. stronger, almost. But she pushed the thought farther back in her mind.
