A silver-grey she-cat padded along the shore line smirking to herself as the light breeze ruffled her fur. The skies threatened rain with their ominous dark hoards of clouds but she wasn't phased. She had to feed her clan. Her paws sunk into the soft earth, she liked the feel of sand beneath her paws. The beach is where she felt most comfortable.
The grey feline sniffed the ocean air and looked to the top of the hill beside her, the tall sea grass swishing in the breeze. She could catch the scent of small mammals close by so she followed the scent that was being carried down wind. Her thick fur ruffled in the wind and she shivered a little as she the higher she rose the more she was under the assault of the weather.
I hope I can find something, most of the animals must be scared of the bad weather and are in hiding. She thought to herself carrying herself up the steep hill getting whipped by the rough grass. She got hit in the eye with one and she blinked her eye watering. Damn, she thought to herself and when she reached the top she blinked repeatedly to rid her eye of the sting, but she had little time to really focus as she saw a flock of seagulls all pecking at the ground together.
Immediately she got down into a crouch. She flicked her tail anxiously waiting for the right moment to spring into action. The gulls had no idea she was there, she crept forward lightly sticking her tongue out a little bit waiting for the exact moment...
Almost...almost....soon....NOW!
She sprang into the air ready to land on the birds as her sudden movement caught her sudden movement. She landed a top a bird who was mid air and she ripped straight into the white gull's neck and the others flapped way over head.
Lifting her head she licked her lips and purred to herself in self-satisfaction. She sat down cleaning her face as her prey sat between her forepaws as a light rain began to fall.

Snowdeath stood in front of the warrior with a pair of seagulls under his paws. His usual technique of hiding among the gulls had got himself two of them. He looked a little embarresed since someone else was there. "Erm...Hi?" Snowdeath felt akward around she-cats since one saved him as an apprentice.

Bluefire set her paw down from cleaning her face. She hadn't noticed the tom along the hill with her. She smiled and nodded to his catch. "Hi, nice catch you have there." She picked up her fresh kill and wandered closer to the tom and once she became closer she set down her gull and cocked her head to the side. "Together we should have enough to feed at least five cats - if they share." she chuckled at that, and purred a little in her throat, she could tell the tom-cat was a little shy but she didn't want him to be too shy around her, after all she wanted her clan mates to be comfortable around her.
She looked up and watched the sea roll over the sandy beach and sighed. The light drizzle lined her fur with droplets that slowly began to slip down it, she looked back at the tom.

"Yeah. If you're white and acting like a gull, they won't notice you're killing them." His black eyes looked at the cloudy gray sky. He smiled slightly. What are you thinking Snowdeath! She's the deputy and you're just a mishap who nearly died. He thought. As he looked at Bluefire, he thought of his own mother who died moons before. So noble and clever she was.

Bluefire rumbled with laughter. "Of course! What a brilliant plan. Wish I coudl do that, you're at the advantage when hunting gulls." The silver-grey she-cat blinked her green orbs and watched him for a moment. "Maybe on this kind of day they'd think I'm a cloud though...a really low cloud, that is..." She smirked and got on all fours and shook her pelt, she felt uncomfortable when rain clung to her, but she didn't mind being wet all that much. Stopping her shaking she sat down and started licking her chest down, then stopped wondering what the tom in front of her was thinking, he seemed to be in thought.

"I heard that your pelt color plays to your advantage. For me I hide among seagulls. You can hide by rocks. Sand-colored cats can hide in the sand." Snowdeath liked this conversation. Something that hadn't happened since the accident. "I don't usually talk much. Especially since the accident." He meowed softly.

Bluefire nodded, "Yeah it can. I remember when I first learned that as an apprentice, my mentor taught me. She was gray too." She remembered her apprentice with a smile on her maw. Blurefire twitched the tip of her tail, "You must hunt well in the snow, which is useful, especially in leafbare." She meowed to her fellow warrior. When he mentioned the accident she had a faint idea what he was talking about but she never knew the details. "What exactly happened?" She asked gently prodding her clan mate for details, she wanted the other cats to trust her and be her friend, otherwise she felt she couldn't be a good deputy or future leader. "You can always talk to me." she added her green eyes soft and kind.

"You mean the accident? Well, I was apprentice the the time and I was out on my asessment(SP?). I was busy chasing a squirrel, I was so intent on it that when it went up a tree I was going to fast then, I hit the tree. At first I thought it'd be okay until snow toppled on me. It was leafbare. I was almost joining StarClan when the medicine cat and the deputy dug me out. The leader was glad and a bit upset with me. And I did well on my asessment so I earned the name of Snowdeath." Snowdeath sighed. "It was scary when I was buried. Ever since then I never talked to any of the warriors or anyone really. Those former apprentices made fun of me since I was too weak to get out." He shook his head. "It's much better now."

Bluefire listened intently. Her heart reached out to him and she padded closer and pressed her flank to his. "I'm so sorry that happened to you, I heard a little bit about it around camp, but I never really knew much of the story. If I had been closer to you then, I would have defended you against those sorry mouse brains." Her fur bristled a little she hated bullying and wanted to take their words back. Sighing she looked up at the sky then back down at Snowdeath, "Well, you can talk to me, whenever, I don't mind...'Sides what you did wasn't so bad, it was just an accident and you survived, and I'm glad you did." She grinned at the tom and flicked the tip of her tail as the rain drizzled on her coat. "Blah, I hate it when the dizzley rain sticks to my fur..." She mumbled shaking herself.

"It's snow, just a bit warmer." Snowdeath licked a bit off his fur. "Besides, if you think of it, you get to drink water whenever you want." He chuckled. The rain was bothering him too but he didn't complian. "Looks like a 'cane to me. We better head back soon."

Bluefire nodded, "That's true. I like rain a lot better than snow," The grey she-cat meowed. "Yeah we should head back, while the prey's fresh anyways, right? I'm sure the clan wouldn't mind some fresh kill." She looked out to sea, "I hope it's not severe whatever it is. That's the last thing our clan needs right now, especially since leafbare is over." She padded back to her gull and looked at Snowdeath. "Ready whenever you are."
(( Do you want to make another thread in camp where they return with the gulls? ))

(( Yeah sure. ))
Snowdeath nodded and picked up his kill. He then began walking towards camp to return to the clan.

Bluefire followed Snowdeath and picked up her freshkill as well and followed him down the path towards the camp.
